Visual Communication has proven to be far more effective than plain text. In today’s day and age of technology graphics are critical for successful presentations. One sure way in the development is to create the graphics first, then write or create the text around the graphics. Graphics generally fall under two criteria that must be achieved to be considered successful, and they mesh or complement each other. If the image or graphic communicates the right message, then it is more likely that it will be accepted. Then if accepted, the presentation of the message will be clear to the receptiveness of the targeted audience. While visual communication is a multi-disciplinary field that encompasses graphic design, illustration, fine arts, multi-media, and photography. It applies the fundamentals of major art forms to “professional problem solving.” In other words, it is utilized to convey specific ideas and messages. Advertising is one field in particular that relies heavily on images to convey ideas. Whether it be print-based, or based on new computer technology, it has become increasingly important in our fast-paced and image-reliant society. Many of these computer programs enable you to choose an emphasis on graphic design, illustration and photography. Whichever is chosen, it requires an eye for detail and the ability to think creatively, good problem solving skills are crucial in these accomplishments.
Graphic design can refer to a number of artistic and professional areas, which focus on visual communication and presentation. Various methods are used to create and combine symbols, images, words to create a visual representation of ideas and messages. A graphic designer can use typography, visual arts and page layout techniques to produce the final result. Graphic design can refer to both the process (designing), by which the communication is created and the products (designs) that are generated. The most common uses of graphic design are included in our everyday viewing. Magazines, advertisements, product packaging and web design are just a few. A product package, for example, might include a logo or other artwork, organized text and pure design elements such as shapes and colors that unify the piece.
