Communication is transferring information through verbal or written words. There are many principles of verbal and nonverbal communication. Some principles of verbal communication include how we are delivering our message, the tone of voice we are using and the pitch of our voice. All of these principles are important. When using verbal communication to communicate it is important to be confident in the message we are sending and to also have knowledge on what we are communicating about. Three principles that are critical in effective communication are being confident, speaking clearly, and tone. I think these are three effective communication principles because if we take all three out of a scenario of communication then in the end you end up having a misunderstood sender and a very confused receiver.
A personal experience for me with difficult verbal and nonverbal communication was when I was about eight years old and cheerleading for the first time I had the hardest time opening up. I didn’t talk much to begin with let alone cheer. We, my team was learning new chants, cheers and stunts I was a flyer. I went into the air and came down extremely hard and heavy and hurt my forearm. Thinking nothing of the situation I said nothing to anyone not even my parents and went on for about two months before saying anything.
