China is a vast land, rich in tourism resources. It comes out in front in the world in scenic spots and historical sites, spectacular landscape, and varied national customs.
With so many attractions,
Ever since the Policy of opening and reform was adapted in 1978, the tourism industry in China, thanks to the great importance attached by the governments at various levels, has become a new but most dynamic and potentially strong factor in the tertiary industry. 6mn in2014 to an impressive 122.4mn in 2018 - an enormous potential market. China's domestic (internal) travel market also presents a valuable opportunity for growth, and the country already has a strong tradition of holiday taking within its own borders.
China tourism market has gained momentum in recent years, with the CAGR of 26.2% between 2009 and 2012. In 2012, the revenue in China tourism industry approximated RMB2.6 trillion, up 15.1% year-on-year.

China is at the turning point for economic restructuring and upgrading, leading to the economic growth slowdown but still in a robust way. Coupled with the improvement of national income level, the tourism industry of China witnesses consolidated growth, with the estimated revenue in 2013 growing by 14.3% year-on-year.

Domestic Tourism Is Of Absolute Dominance

Tourism in China has greatly expanded over the last few decades. As the third most visited country , China is sure one of the most attractive tourism markets in the world.

With a long and rich history, China probably has the greatest number of places of historical interest. Only in Beijing can one find countless famous places, including tile Great Wall, the Summer Palace and the Temple of Heaven. A tour to such places is very impressive and one can learn a lot about Chinese history and traditional Chinese culture from it. Moreover, as one of the biggest countries in the world it also has many beautiful scenic spots, such as Guilin and lijiang. These beautiful natural scenery give tourists most wonderful enjoyment and best memories.

During China holidays, especially golden weeks, like National Day, every scenic spot is filled with people from all over the world. There are so many tourists that all the hotels and the restaurants are overload.

The number of domestic tourists in 2013 is around 3.275 billion, standing at 95.3%, with the targeted revenue increasing by 15.4% year-on-year to RMB2.62 trillion.

As China integrates with the global economy, it’s tourist industry is expected to continue to boom in the next five years. It is forecasted that China’s tourism industry still develop with an annual growth rate of about 10 percent. Moreover the sustained growth in China’s GDP is expected to further stimulate the growth of tourism industry, and the number of domestic tourism expected to increase by about 5 percent annually in the next few year. The tourism of China has been a great success. We can see a very prosperous future for Chinese tourism.
