The Three Idiots

1. How does the movie relate to the management principle of leading and controlling?

Rancho in this movie is a perfect example of a leader. He succeeded in influencing and motivating his two friends to follow their dreams. He does not impose it to any of them but instead he walk his talk. He makes it a point to understand their personalities, attitudes, and emotions and he attacked the situation considering all of these factors. Farhan pursued his dream and became successful on this field. Raju, on the other hand, developed self trust and worth and was able to get a good job

His passion is wildlife photography and he took up Engineering just to comply with his fathers’ wish. So inspite of passing Engineering, he would never be a good engineer. And as shown in the movie, he became a successful wildlife photographer after he decided to leave Engineering and pursue his Photography passion. Make your passion your profession.

In the case of Raju, even if he likes Engineering, his focused was disrupted by too much fears and worries. He was not able to maximize his full potential because he did not believe on his own capabilities. He subscribed to some cult practices to seek help in passing.

Pursue a career which interests you most. Listen to your heart and make it happen. If you took a course just in compliance with what other people wants you to be, it would be very difficult and you will not be successful and worst, you will never be HAPPY on what you are doing.

3. How does the movie relate to alternative methods of learning and teaching strategies?

This is a story that each one of us can easily relate to or identify with. As a student, we can either be Rancho, Farhan, Raju or Chatur . Rancho is in school for knowledge, to learn not...
