Moral or lesson to be learned
Chronological series of events. IE: timeline
i. A narrative essay tells a story. It can be fact or fiction, however it does tell a story. Generally speaking the story has a meaning of sort. Narratives are interesting and creative ways to teach a moral to others. In the Narrative I want a Wife, Brady tells a story when her friend, a man, came to her house and made a comment that he wanted another wife. Thinking about what her friend had said, she decided that she would like the same. (Brady, 1971)

The difference between the two, is the difference between hearing, touching, tasting, smelling, or seeing, and not. Abstract words cannot be heard, seen, or stimulate our senses. Concrete words on the other hand, do stimulate our senses. A narrative uses concrete language. With using concrete language it engages as many of the readers senses as possible. The reader can effectively fall into the story themselves.
e. Clear narrative order
vi. Narritives maintain a clear order to its structure. Opening paragraph, rising action, climax, falling action, conclusion paragraph.
vii. A descriptive essay reveals itself in a way that creates a large spectrum of sensory inhibitors to create visual creation and vividness to the picture of the audience. It allows the audience to have a clear identity in regards to the meaning.
g. Does not have to be in a chronological series of events
viii. Unlike a narrative, a descriptive does not need to be in chronological, spatial, or dramatic order. The significance of understanding a descriptive is not necessarily the structure of the writing, however the ability of the writer to paint a picture with his or her words....
