The leading cause of death in the United States is noninfectious disease: coronary artery disease. In coronary artery disease, the arteries that supply blood to the heart become blocked, restricting blood flow. Coronary artery disease is only one disease of cardiovascular system; hypertension, stroke, and rheumatic heart disease are three other prominent cardio vascular diseases. Atherosclerosis is an important cardiovascular disease process that is the underlying cause of coronary artery disease and stroke.
In the text, exercise can reduce the diseases from developing in the body. The major risk factors for developing cardiovascular disease are family history, abnormal blood lipid levels, obesity, diabetes mellitus, and stress. According to the ...view middle of the document...
For example getting out of bed. Isotonic means to contract one muscle against another without producing movement. For example, playing shuffleboard. Anaerobic is exercise that is cut short like, 50-yard dash or sprinting. Whereas aerobics uses a high demand in oxygen like, swimming and running a long distance.
These types of exercise can reduce the risk of premature death. My grandmother is 70 years old and can dance salsa without a problem. She inspires me to become a healthier person. She has learned that exercise has completely changed her life and health. When I was little I remember my grandma had many problems with her hands, she could barely close them. Now that she has a very fit and healthy lifestyle she can lift, dance, and close her hands with no aches or pains. My grandmother workouts every morning, but it’s nothing intense unless she feels she can take it. When she started exercising she did the basic exercise in the water. She started noticing that her body was feeling better and that every time she checked with the doctor she always had good results.
I don’t exercise as much as I want too but I do what I can. For example, I walk to my job everyday instead of taking the train or driving. Sometimes I will run a little late and walk as fast as I can to work, to motivate my self to get there on time. Just recently my elevator broke in my apartment building, I live on the top floor and even though I’m a little upset about walking all the stairs to may apartment, it benefits me. I noticed that since my elevator broke, that I gained muscles and strength in my body just by walking up the six flights of stairs!
