The Barangay Local Government Unit (BLGU) initiated the conduct of seminar in Comprehensive Barangay Development Plan Formulation. During the seminar, it was identified also by the participants that goat is one way to solve their problem on poverty.
The people in the community also recognized that goat raising can link to other agricultural endeavour like crop farming because goat manure if process into organic fertilizer is one of the best fertilizers to crops that will give a higher yield.
This project is also economically viable because based on the return of investment in this study, the ROI in year-1 is low at 52.3% very high in year-2 at 221.17% and moderately high in the third year at 114.9% indicating an average ROI of 129.5% during the first three years of operation.
The success of this project will create an increase in the supply of live goats and chevon in the locality. Nowadays, the demand is high because of the traders coming from the cities of Davao, Tagum and General Santos.
In addition, goat manure and forage waste on this project can be used as raw materials for the production of organic fertilizers.
Social and Mental Environmental Safeguards
The negative impact of this project which is air and water pollution can be prevented due to the full implementation of the Republic Act 9003. This law regulates the segregation of biodegradable and non-biodegrable garbage.
