The United States has taken a global power role due to several international events such as the Libyan intervention and the Syrian civil war. Due to the significance of the role that they have played in these international events the United States has become known as the “Policemen of the World”. The United States has shown that it can use force when required and show empathy during other times.

S. gaining global influence was through its commerce. The U.S. was able to ship its products by ships and planes to distant lands. Another factor was the American dollar had become the standard international currency. The U.S. also kept forces in the countries of our allies after WWII to help with defending their territories.
3 International incidents since WWII where America played the role as a policeman.
1st incident – Iran Coup: After WWII U.S. and Russia were vying for the large oil reserves that were in Iran. Because the government in Iran was unstable at the time. The U.S. and Britain had devised a plan through the CIA and British intelligence to create a new government that would be Pro U.S.
2nd incident – Bay of Pigs: This was an invasion that took place in Cuba by 1200 Cuban refugees that were trained and funded by the CIA. The hopes were that these refugees would take out Fidel Castro’s communist government. The refugees were meet with overwhelming resistance by Fidels army. By the end of the battle 100 refugees were killed and 1100 were captured. Fidel used this failure to maintain his power...
