1. Describe a local land line phone system based on the following Landline Telephone Components:
a. Local Loop - It is the physical link or circuit that connects from the demarcation point of the customer premises to the edge of the common carrier or telecommunications service provider's network.
b. Central Office - A "central office" is an office in a locality to which subscriber home and business lines are connected on what is called a local loop.
c. Local Exchanges - wireline telephone companies are divided into two large categories (long range, and local)

b. Telephone Network Topology:
i. Demarcation Point - the point at which the public switched telephone network ends and connects with the customer's on-premises wiring.
ii. Equipment - refers to hardware used mainly for telecommunications such as transmission lines, multiplexers and base transceiver stations.
iii. Access Networks - part of a telecommunications network which connects subscribers to their immediate service provider.
iv. Regional/Metro Networks - a network that interconnects users with computer resources in a geographic area or region larger than that covered by even a large LAN, but smaller than the area covered by a WAN.

c. Cable TV
i. Broadcast TV - television signal is transmitted by radio waves to the TV receiver from a terrestrial transmitter

iii. Network Access Point - is a public network exchange facility.
iv. Interface Device - is a hardware component or system of components that allows a human being to interact with a computer, a telephone system, or other electronic information system.

d. Telecommunication Services:
i. RBOCs - Regional Bell operating company
ii. Unbundling - market or charge for (items or services) separately rather than as part of a package.
iii. MSOs - an operator of multiple cable or direct-broadcast satellite television systems.
iv. ISPs - Internet service provider
v. Triple Play - marketing term for the provisioning, over a single broadband connection
vi. Cloud Computing - is a kind of Internet-based computing, where shared resources, data and information are provided to computers
