Today’s business world presents numerous ethical issues. In today’s world above board/moral ethics in organizations do not often materialize intuitively. Organization must strive to provide employees with a clear understanding of the overall company vision. This will aid employees in practicing the code of ethics, policies and procedures in the workplace. Companies must be unwavering in continuously delivering the uppermost ethics of provision in which customers, applicants and employees are entitled to under fair business practices. In order to fully understand ethical issues the clear precise understanding of business ethics is core.
An recognizable conflict and/or occasion that an individual is required to act, that can be assessed as correct or incorrect moral or immoral. What this means in business is measuring monetary gain in contrast to what an individual believes is proper conduct. A positive and/or negative relationship amongst government and business can often be complicated. The class, Business, Society, and Government is built on the viewpoint of reasonable, supervisory, and ethnic dynamics. The vital required abilities to examine business and society conflict/issues pinpointing essential elements understanding the consequences it has on diverse communities. Workplace employees working in the present society are faced with many issues. These conflicts/experiences often effect the work environment.
Three frequently problematic ethical issues within the workforce are harassment, discrimination, and retaliation. Harassment and discrimination in the workplace occur in different methods. Workplace harassment in any manner of unwanted behavior toward an employee that leashes obstacles in performing job duties and/or making the employee feel he/she is working in an unwelcoming environment. Harassment can be a result of several factors such as, race, gender, culture, age, sexual orientation, national origin and/or religion. For the most part there are various countries that have laws in place to safeguard employees from suffering this kind of abuse on the job. There are a number of components that must exist for workplace harassment to be acknowledged.
The behavior/conduct has to be uninvited as well as abusive to the employee. The harassment has to be addressed by the employee. He or she must voice the concerns of unwanted behavior, for the purpose to make available corrective behavior adjustment for the harasser. The corrective behavior requires a quality that yields an effect on the employee aptitude to perform work tasks in a proficient method. Workplace harassment contains a variety of behaviors. The law prohibits workplace discrimination. Under federal and state legislation, unlawful discrimination occurs when someone, or a group of people, is treated less favorable than another person or group because of their race, color, national or ethnic origin; sex, pregnancy or marital status; age; disability; religion; sexual preference; trade union activity; or some other characteristic specified under anti-discrimination or human rights legislation (ww.hreoc.gov.au/info-for-employers/what.html). I feel age is a more common at present form of discrimination in today’s society. Age discrimination against older people currently exists in many companies.
