Justification Report

506 words - 3 pages

To Mr.Wang

According to my research to current economic journals in market, I recommend ‘American Economic Review’ as the magazine our company should order for employers to read. We are a public company; our employers should not only focus on their own work, but also have some knowledge of economic or finance to assist CEO to make right decisions for company, and enhance their comprehensive working ability.

I have chosen three journals to compare; they are ‘American Economic Review’, ‘Journal of Finance’ and ‘Wall Street Journal’. As for the cost, they are similar, and ‘American Economic Review’ is published quarterly , ‘Journal of Finance’ is double monthly, and ‘Wall Street Journal’ is daily.

They are all the most popular journals in Economic industry today, while, they are ...view middle of the document...

Every day, nearly 2,000,000 people read this newspaper, and its critics even could limit some bad trend. Company may not cross the line after their behavior has been discuss by ‘Wall Street Journal’. It is a very serious newspaper, it reports the fact seriously, even pictures are seldom colorful, and report government’s policy in a simple way, to let common people understand the whole thing they are discussing. It range from political economic, business news, kinds of industries, international capital markets analysis, personal investing, and culture, also including some information, such as real estate, traveling, and ect.

American Economic Review’ is published by American Economic Association, AEA. The articles there are professional while also very easy to understand for everyone. This magazine aims at offering the information of important and crucial economic event. A lot of creative ideas also appear in magazine, which could be discussed by pros and also common people. The journal contains articles on a broad range of topics.

Since most of our colleagues are not professional in economic industry, we should choose between ‘American Economic Review’ and ‘Wall Street Journal’. ‘Journal of Finance’ is powerful and discussed by most pros, while should not suitable for common people, especially not professional people. And ‘Wall Street Journal’ has lot of current news, and let readers in Wall Street, while, it offers detail things, which hardly give a picture of economic to the first learner. So now, our employers should choose ‘American Economic Review’ to learn some background of economic and finance, some days later, we could have ‘Wall Street Journal’ and some of us turn out to be kind of professional people in this industry, we could order Journal of Finance’.
