He started out in a small town with just one store. As time went by his customer base grew and more of his merchandise and services to the seeing impaired grew. So did the demand of more stores with technical advantages. He then implemented a Strategic information system (SIS) to give him the competitive advantage over his competitors. This helped him upgrade his stores and implement a website to meet his customers’ needs.
In order to implement his plans he would need several systems working in sync to stay ahead of the market. The systems are listed below along with their definitions.
➢ Electronic Commerce System- There are two types of transactions those are Business to Business (B2B) and Business to Customer (B2C) this system is design to help integrate the electronic commerce needed and is usually internet based.

➢ Transaction processing System- This system monitors, collects, stores, and process data from basic transactions of the business. This is a continuous process and is used to generate real time data for reporting.

➢ Enterprise Resource planning system- This system is designed to correct a lack of communication between functional areas (Systems) because there are some systems that were meant to be stand alone programs.
Conclusion
Although James’ Records has been around for quite some time, venturing into the electronic and information technology age is like opening new stores by using e-commerce to keep the competitive edge.
