3. How should Jennifer go about collecting the information required for the standards, procedures, and job description?
Every business has their own requirement, given by the company and/or given by state or country like hygiene regulations. First of all Jennifer should inform herself with particularly regulations by state or country. Also, there will be general instructions made up by their company. All in all Jennifer need to understand what does the job need to be filled and what employees need to do those jobs effectively from this point of view Jennifer can start to collect information that include: work activities, human behavior, machines, tools, equipment, performance standards ,job context, human requirement. Everything summarized will support to make the right choices.
4. What, in your opinion, should the store manager’s job description look like and contain?
Well, if I would know about the specific job that Jennifer does like is it a service oriented store, do they sell insurance or ice cream or did she work in a public office I could give an precise advise but customer regulations or effective control are all terms that correspond with a lot of jobs. In general there is always a description that afford previous knowledge trained or studied before in Universities with these knowledge that are already made should it be easy to specify an job description. No one would apply for a job without the skills that are involved in the special fields of the job. Oriented job description with the focus on skills as needed in the job of store manager would spare some time and would lead to good recruitment of applicants.
