Establishing a HIPPA Compliant Procedure at Healthcare Department of Gary Job Corps Center
Healthcare industry is being faced by a major threat that is misuse of patient health information. To protect the patient and their families during their job transition or the unemployment period and to protect the patient health information from being misused the U.S Congress ratified HIPAA i.e. Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act. HIPAA protects patients and their families in times of their unemployment by providing them with Health Insurance at that particular time. (Wikipedia, 2011)
The basic aim of the research is to provide a HIPAA compliant procedure for a health department, to narrow the focus, Gary Job Corps Centre’s Health Department has been chosen for the procedure development
Every healthcare department of every company within U.S has to abide by the rules and regulations of HIPAA. HIPAA not only protects the patient but also ensures safe and effective processes carried out by the healthcare department of the any company.
Job Corps is a program that enables youngsters and young adults to work for improving the quality of life they are leading. It is a no-cost program and is being administered by the U.S department of labor. Gary Job Corps is being operated by Job Corps and was founded in March 1965. Gary Job Corps was formerly known as Gary Army Air field. After President Johnson’s announcement about opening the Job Corps, Gary Army Air field was transformed into Gary Job Corps and thus the first batch of students was catered to in 1965. Gary Job Corps is a program that works under Jobs Corps e and provides practical career technical training along with the academic training to its students. It can also help its students acquire a diploma (GED). The services provided by Gary Job Corps Center are not limited to the above two mentioned. The facilities provided by the institute also include: job placement, career planning, on-job training, driver’s education, health and dental care, residential housing, nutritional classes food service and basic allowances for living and clothing.
