Many issues arise in advertising, and one common issue is ethics. Children and advertising, health and advertising, and political advertising are all area where ethics really come into play, and should be monitored on an ethical stand point.

It has also caused for mental self-esteem issues. Young people now want to look like the celebrities they admire in order to feel that they are worthy of love, affection, and attention from the peers.
Advertising affects not only the health of children, but people of all ages. Advertisements promoting newly experimented drugs with dozens of other side effects are written in small print, but throughout the ad it appears like it is the miracle drug for a particular condition or disease. There are also advertisements to promote being healthy, but when looking deeper into the actual benefits of them, they prove to be worse for you than before. It is not ethical to trick consumers into spending hundreds or even thousands of dollars on product in search of a result, but end up wasting time and money on a fraudulent product.
Political advertising faces ethical issues also. Each source is always bias towards one candidate and promotes the good of their candidate, leaving out and bad information, but spreads lies about the opposing candidates(s) or only tells the bad things about them. It is also very hard to find a neutral source for politics. This in itself causes issues because it sways the people’s opinion about which side to be on, and usually which ever candidate with the most money funding their campaign, wins.
In conclusion, advertising caused many ethical issues. From sabotaging our youth to brainwashing our political views, advertisements mold our thinking in to what they want us to think in order to consume their product. In order to combat the issues in advertisements we should be knowledgeable about what they are trying to get the consumers to do.
