“Hateful conduct” in Twitter

Twitter has updated its rules to crush on the amount of abuse its user are receiving. According to a blog post published on 30th of December by the director of trust and safety of twitter Inc., twitter is updating the rules to clarify what they consider “abusive behavior” and “hateful conduct”. It has stated that Twitter will not tolerate behavior intended to harass, intimidate, or use fear to silence another user’s voice.4
Twitter has been using tools for blocking, muting and reporting abusive behavior to capture abusive behavior. According to the blog, one of the effective strategy found to fight abuse is creating mandatory actions for suspected abusive behavior, such as email and phone verification, and user deletion of Tweets for violations.4
