1. INTRODUÇÃO

“Na maioria das organizações, a informação viaja ao longo de rotas conhecidas. As informações privadas são hospedadas em bancos de dados e analisadas assim gerando relatórios que em seguida são levados a cadeia de gestão. As informações também se originam externamente - recolhidas a partir de fontes públicas, colhidas a partir da internet ou compradas de fornecedores de informação.
Mas os caminhos previsíveis da informação estão mudando: o próprio mundo físico esta se tornando um tipo de sistema de informação. No que é chamada de internet das Coisas, sensores e atuadores incorporados em objetos físicos – desde estradas a marca passos - são ligados através de redes com e sem fio, muitas vezes usando o mesmo protocolo de internet (IP) que os conecta a Internet. Estas redes despejam grandes volumes de dados que fluem para os computadores para análise. Quando os objetos tanto podem sentir o ambiente quanto se comunicarem, eles se tornam ferramentas para a compreensão da complexidade e respondem a ela rapidamente.” [1] (Tradução Livre)
A Internet das Coisas (do inglês - Internet of Things ou Web of Things) é definida como a interação entre dispositivos conectados a internet, de acordo com o protocolo certo, a fim de trocar informações e se comunicarem. A Internet das Coisas é "o material de objetos conectados a Internet”. Tendo assim dois principais significados: primeiro, o centro da rede e da infraestrutura continua sendo a internet é na internet que está à base da extensão e expansão da rede; e segundo, o usuário final é estendido e expandido para qualquer objeto ou objetos permitindo a troca de informação e comunicação a fim de alcançar interesses em comum fazendo assim com que qualquer coisa com inteligência tenha uma presença online, gerando dados que podem ser usados de formas inimagináveis atualmente. Um dos principais segmentos que tem impulsionado a Internet das Coisas é a área da automação residencial, também conhecida como Domótica. A medida com que a tecnologia foi evoluindo, diminuindo e barateando os componentes eletrônicos, a possibilidade de integrar diversos equipamentos elétricos e eletrônicos entre si e com a internet tem se tornado algo cada vez mais comum e tem chamando muita atenção, ganhando um grande destaque ultimamente devido às inúmeras aplicações possíveis. A ideia da aplicação da Internet das Coisas em conjunto com a automação elétrica residencial é a de criar uma espécie de Smart Grid (uma rede de consumo inteligente) integrando elementos residenciais a internet...
