Overview of Green Computing
•  Green computing or green IT, refers to environmentally
sustainable computing or IT.
•  The study and practice of designing, manufacturing, using,
and disposing of computers, servers, and associated
subsystems—such as monitors, printers, storage devices,
and networking and communications systems—efficiently
and effectively with minimal or no impact on the
environment.

components of a laptop computer is shown first. With the
statistic results of power consumption, we can realized
which component consumes more power and can try to
reduce the power consumption of these components.
•  The second part shows the ecosystem view of green
computing architecture, which contains impact, metrics,
and solutions of green computing.

of computers as energy-efficient as possible, and
designing algorithms and systems for efficiency-related
computer technologies.
