Think about how noble sacrifices are defined! Now think about what are the defining components justifying noble sacrifices that qualify heroes. This article is going to explain each component, the justification, and how the heroes help shown these components. The main components are helping others without a direct need to, when the hero gives up something extremely valuable, and peaceful intentions.
An element of noble sacrifice is helping others with a direct need to. Mr.Grishchenko flying his helicopter over the exploding, radioactive reactor to dump concrete over the fire wasn’t required by any circumstance. Mr.Grishchenko did it out of pure generosity, and what did he get out of it? A ...view middle of the document...
Never the less, another key component to justify noble sacrifice is giving something of extremely high value to the hero. Irena Sendler gave up a lot of income to help the Jewish people escape before the Nazi party members captured them. She even gave up her freedom just to help get those Jewish people to a safe place. Kate told Anna that she didn’t have to give stem cells for her leukemia. When Kate did this she in turn killed herself. Kate sacrificed one of the most valuable things, a life, for her sister Anna’s convince and comfort. Both made a choice to give up something of extreme value to help others.
Furthermore, peaceful intentions are the most defining component that justifies noble sacrifice. Paul Watson and his crew just wanted to save the whales when they were following the Russian whaling ships. As the crew followed behind the whalers they filmed them, just so they could show people what they have done. When the whalers began to kill the whales, instead of using force to stop them, they tried peacefully protesting to stop them. Gandhi was one of the most peaceful men alive. He protested, went on famine strikes, and even stayed calm in the face of hate. Even when Gandhi was almost assassinated, he didn’t want revenge but instead just love and harmony. Gandhi even broke the British rule over India just by gathering people and protesting.
Concluding, all six of these heroes help justify the qualifying components of noble sacrifices, Mr.Grishchenko and the elders, Kate and Irene, and Gandhi and Watson. Compassion, willingness to sacrifice, and peace, all these are the defining components of noble sacrifice.
