Beauty and its Consequence on Women
Many people believe that beauty makes life easier and it comes with its own perks. Beautiful people are assumed to be funnier, friendlier, and more social then average looking people. They receive more attention from their counterparts. More job positions are open to those with better looks and they’re able to earn more as well. This could all be nothing but stereotypes for both gender but when it comes to looks, men don’t usually worry about it. For women that are seeking an opportunity to work in a field that is considered more masculine, it could be considerably hard for them. To land a job position as a firefighter, construction worker or anything along those lines, women are expected to act and look more like men.

Women are thought to be weaker and men are thought be the dominant ones. Many believe that these types of women are put on a pedestal and that everything is handed to them. They aren’t thought to be leaders and only rely on their looks. It’s taboo for a woman to dress attractively in their place of work. Men usually don’t have to worry about their looks interfering with work but these are usually the stress builder for women.
In some cases there are jobs that require beauty over intelligence that leads to the stereotypes of attractive women being taken as not so smart. Although this might be false this might be a reason why attractive women have a hard time finding a job that is more closely related to men. Whenever they do manage to obtain a job they are discriminated against and some would say that it was the woman’s looks that got her the position rather than her IQ. Women are also acknowledged as weaker than men and if the woman is too attractive she could also be considered to be weaker than most women. This leads to the idea that she could be unfit for the job when it comes to physical strength.
In conclusion women deserve to be treated equally to men when it comes to job hiring. Women face many challenges as they become older. No matter what the job is, women should be able to have a fair chance to obtain it because I’m quite sure they could perform just as well when given the right tools. Nobody should face discrimination when it comes to working, and gender nor physical appearance should matter. Women were given equal rights for a reason and they shouldn’t be discriminated for their looks. Although looks can be important, they aren’t all that matter. Talent and intelligence should be the main focus.
