European Wax Center
European Wax Center is a family owned business that started in 1993. Originally, European Wax Center was a part of the Coba family salon. In 2004 European Wax Center was removed from the salon and became its own business. European Wax Center was so positive that a new store in South Florida opened every 6 months from 2004 – 2007. Although royals started the trend of body waxing, over time hair removal became part of every member of society’s routine; from priests to slaves, it was a general hygiene and esthetic practice. There were two popular forms of wax. One was a sugar wax, which was made by combining sugar, lemon juice and water, and heating into syrup. The other was beeswax, which is still used today by our EWC waxers. As they took notes from this ancient society, they added a modern touch to the process. Comfort Wax is made from 100% all natural European beeswax and is the secret to the painless treatment. The ancient Egyptians have always been known as cultural trendsetters, and waxing is now added to their list of exploits.
All wax centers are revolutionized for their pain free and pocketbook friendly prices. At every location they use a patented wax along with a four step process (1) cleanse the skin (2) protect the skin with oil so the wax only adheres to the skin (3) removing hair with exclusive comfort wax (4) treating skin with ingrown serum or calming cream. Their mission statement is “Prepare to strut. Glow. And feel fabulous. We believe luxurious waxing isn’t just for the privileged. It’s for everyone who wants gorgeous skin, whenever they desire.”
European wax centers never really had to face an economic downfall, for they had such a positive impact on people and changed the way people thought of their skin, they never had a problem with setting up new franchises.
