My commitment to my profession is extremely important. I obtained a B. A. in psychology in 2012, then I went straight to my master’s degree in Clinical psychology with an emphasis in marital and family therapy. I decided to get my master’s in clinical psychology, because I wanted to have training in research and psychopathology. My academic program focuses on creating culturally diverse therapists that could help diverse cultures. In my master’s degree. I had several classes focus on the importance of having knowledge of other cultures. I learned that each culture requires a different treatment in order to be effective. In the academic process we learned a lot about psychopathology and evidence based practices effective with diverse populations. I have received the best training possible were our focus is always the patient and we must never give up on them because we can make a difference in their lives.
