Chapter 1
Technology plays an important role in society nowadays; technology serves as a communication tool. The alternative way to the society in terms of communicating is the internet. Internet is a global system of interconnected computer networks that use the standard Internet protocol suite to serve billions of users worldwide. Internet carries an extensive range of information resources and services, such as the inter-linked hypertext documents of the World Wide Web (WWW) and the infrastructure to support email. Professors of PnC do everything from creating chat rooms, forums and groups to extend classroom discussion to posting assignments, tests and quizzes, and assisting with homework outside of the classroom for their students. The researchers decided to create a “Social Networking Site for PnC” to help the professors and students. Professors can teach their students by means of this site, they can post announcements which students can easily find.
The researchers, developed the PnC Tambayan, focused more on how the social network will have a huge impact not just for fun but also in terms of communication between professors and students or vice versa. This site is available to PnC students, professors, alumni and administrators. It serves as communication tool and a site for sharing of files between students and professors or vice versa.
Statement of the Problem
The main objective of the study is to design and develop PnC Tambayan that will provide a social networking site to the students, alumni and professors.

1. What are the current practices in existing SNS in terms of:
a. sharing of files;
b. communication between students to professors or vice versa;
b. dissemination of information;
c. filtering and exclusivity of social networking;
d. security of information; and
e. games?

2. What are the problems encountered in the current practices in existing SNS in terms of:

Conceptual Framework
