Over the past decades the way patients receive different medicines in the pharmacy has made drastic changes. The introduction of a computerized pharmacy has given pharmacists easy access to vital information quicker than the rational way. As stated by Candice Arnold,

Errors such as misinterpretation from bad hand writing and finding the appropriate medicines covered by ones medical insurance will soon be a problem of the past. With this system, even in a rural area as such, the process of preparing medicine will be made less complicated. Although, there still are chances for error with the system such as power outages or common error, this system is still more efficient for pharmacists to access information from our rural area. Consulting with doctors and patients from the pharmacy will be made easier now that the computerized system is introduced...
From the point of view of the patient, this system can be faster and more cost efficient, but there is the threat of unprotected health information. For the citizens of Ruston, this system is essential to the elderly and ones unable to travel to other hospitals. The centralized computer system makes patients health records immediate available to the pharmacist which can present some problems. The patient’s record can be obtained by anyone with right code in the hospital. Some patients might not want their health history shared with multiple people, so this could be considered an invasion of privacy....
