Dear Ms Martine Murray
I am a thirteen tear old girl who has just recently finished read in your book, The Slightly True Story of Cedar B. Hartley.
Personally for me the book was great; the way the story was set was unique and different not many people in my opinion would be imaginative the way you are. When I read the book the pictures in my head were quite ...view middle of the document...
Very vivid images
There was good description in the main parts of the book
Things which could have been better:
More description of the circus
More information about Barnaby
More information on Cedar’s Father
How the answer of all Cedar’s questions come at the end in one pile. There could have been more hints during the book about all the information about Barnaby and Cedar‘s dad (which wasn’t much information at all) but all of the information came at the end in a big pile.
Overall the book was FANTASTIC. It was really interesting (but the illustrator could have made the covers better). There were really good morals in the story like don’t always believe what you hear and in you darkest moments you must focus to see the light and if you keep trying and have confidence in in what you’re doing anything can happen.
Wish you the best with your future book
