BIS/220 Introduction to Computer Applications Systems is a course that describes how database are used in the work environment, explains the benefits of collaborating tools to the work environment, and compare types of electronic commerce. A database collects records or stores information that is stored in a computer in a logical manner so that the information can be stored, managed, or retrieved. This program also helps make presentations of data appealing by using colorful graphs. Microsoft Word is a powerful writing tool that includes many fonts and type styles, spell check, word count and can format your paper to any format that is available. You can also create documents through templates that are available through this program creating many types of forms, calendars, flyers and stationery. PowerPoint is used for making engaging presentations on a subject that can be presented in a slide format, adding animation and graphics. This format can be easily shared over the Internet. Microsoft Excel is a spreadsheet program that is used to track, calculate and visualize data using a grid of cells arranged in rows that are numbered for arithmetic operations.
