Ecology Letters: Impacts of climate change on the future of biodiversity.
This article explains the many different impacts of climate change that effect individuals, species etc.one important point stated is that a study has resulted that about 6300 species have a great possibility of disappearing due to extinction (Celine et al. 2012).
Letters: Nematode from the terrestrial deep subsurface of South Africa.
One point in which I felt increased my knowledge to this topic understands the difference between Halicephalobus and H.mephisto, even though they have a morphologically minimalistic gene they are different due to their long spotted tail (Borgonie et al. ...view middle of the document...
The following paper assessed the extinction risks using the projections of species distribution that was used for future climate scenarios to predict the climate warning cases in the year of 2050. One particular result interested me was a tropical humid forest at the rate of 0.43% predicts that from the years 1990 till 2050 an estimate of 6.3% of species may be extinct (Thomas et al. 2004).
Review: Biodiversity loss and its impact on humanity
This paper concludes the evidence that has taken place in which justifies how diversity lost it impact on ecosystems in a number of statements. In emerging trend one it is mentioned that any impact that takes place biodiversity will also have a large impact on the driver of global environmental change in the world (Cardinal et al. 2012).
Biodiversity: Climate Change or Habitat Loss — Which Will Kill More species?
An interesting point given in this paper predicts that about 400 to 550 of the world land birds will be extinct and an about 2150 will be at risk of extinction, also stating that only 21% of these species are currently on the watch list of the species at risk of being extinct (Pimm 2008).
